  • Black paper (with a good about of thickness that will hold the shape of the wings)
  • Scissors
  • Googlie eyes (optional)
  • String or rope
  • Glue gun
  • Scotch tape or double sided tape

Step 1: The first thing that you would need is a template for cutting the shape of the bat. You have to draw the template on the black paper and then cut it accordingly. This is the template for help.

Step 2: After cutting the bats, fold the wings of the bat as shown in the template in dotted lines in the final diagram. After that, you can either place googlie eyes on the bats to make it look cute or you can draw eyes with a white pen or you can skip that completely.

You can even add black fur or cotton to make it look realistic.

Step 3: When our bats are ready, it’s time for it to hang them from the ceiling. To give the whole thing a sense of surprise, try to hang them at different levels from the ceiling. Some at a shorter distance and some at a longer distance. And you can also play with the hanging part by hanging some straight and some inverted.

You can glue the string or the rope with the bat or you can make a hole at the edge of the bat and tie the rope or string. This will help you more when hanging them inverted. Then you can use either double-sided tape or scotch tape to stick it to the ceiling.

You can even stick the bats creatively in the wall of your house or in your portico. For that, use double-sided tape as it has great strength in its glue.
